Mastering Long Exposure Seascapes with Mark Gray
Mark your calendars! The Essendon Camera Club is thrilled to welcome acclaimed landscape and seascape photographer Mark Gray for a special presentation focused on the craft of Long Exposure Seascapes.
Whether you want to transform crashing surf into ethereal mist, capture the dynamic sweep of coastal tides, or master dramatic skies, long exposure photography opens up an entirely new creative dimension. Mark will guide members through the essential techniques, technical considerations, and artistic vision required to create striking coastal imagery.
What to Expect:
-
The Gear & Setup: Using neutral density (ND) and graduated filters, sturdy tripod techniques in wet sand, and protecting equipment in harsh coastal environments.
-
Exposure & Timing: Calculating ultra-long exposures, reading light changes during golden and blue hours, and choosing the shutter speed that best conveys motion.
-
Composition along the Coast: Working with tidal movement, finding strong foreground interest, and creating depth amidst expansive horizons.
-
Q&A: Bring your questions and get direct insights from one of Australia’s premier landscape photographers.
Both long-time members and visitors looking to expand their coastal photography skills are warmly invited to attend. Come along, get inspired, and prepare to elevate your next trip to the shoreline!
