Enrolments for 2021 Now Open
Learn the fundamentals of photography and light and how to apply a new understanding in how to capture great photographs.
For over 50 years the Essendon Camera Club has been running an annual Introduction to Photography course. Over this time, thousands of people have learnt more about their camera, their images and how to present their images to maximise their potential. Some have even stayed on as a member of the club. You can join them too.
This course is aimed at those who’ve purchased a DSLR or mirrorless camera and want to take the next step in understanding how to use it.
Our course is run over nine nights. Each night is centred on a topic for you to discover and learn. We include hands-on activities for you to put your learning into practice and you will be provided with a home work project to guide you while you are not with us.
In addition to this, there three outings to increase your hands-on skills. The first allows you to practice with natural light, the second is a night photography session and the third is a dawn visit to Coode Island with the intent of catching a wonderful sunrise over the city.
The introduction to photography course covers the following areas:
- Shutter Speed
- Understanding light
- Portrait Photography
- Landscape Photography
- Using Flash
- Digital Workflow
