How to add ECC Syllabus Calendar to your Personal Calendar:

• Outlook.com | Subscribing to an ICS (iCalendar Scheduling) URL (Recommended for automatic updates)

This method subscribes to the ECC Event calendar, meaning it will automatically update in Outlook.com when changes are made to the original ICS feed.

  1. Go to Outlook.com Calendar:

     • Open your web browser and go to outlook.live.com/calendar/ (or log in to Outlook.com and navigate to the Calendar section).

     • Make sure you’re logged into the Microsoft account where you want to add the calendar.

  2. Add Calendar:

     • In the left-hand navigation pane, under “My calendars” or above it, look for the “Add calendar” button. Click on it.

  3. Subscribe from web:

     • A pop-up or new pane will appear with several options. Choose “Subscribe from web” (it might also say “From web”).

  4. Enter the ICS URL:

     • In the “URL of calendar” field, paste the full ICS link you obtained from your Outlook 365 calendar
       https://outlook.office365.com/owa/calendar/1ff726659b64474e876e758772319868@essendoncameraclub.org.au/d30a23f38eac45698ad99996908de2c37997506261311288133/calendar.ics

     • Give the calendar a name (e.g., “Essendon Camera Club Events”).

     • Choose a color and charm for it if you like (optional).

  5. Import (or Save):

     • Click the “Import” or “Save” button (the exact wording can vary).

That’s it! The new calendar will now appear under “Other calendars” in your Outlook.com calendar list. It will automatically synchronize with the source calendar, pulling in updates periodically.

• Gmail.com | Subscribing to an ICS (iCalendar Scheduling) URL (Recommended for automatic updates)

This method subscribes to the ECC Event calendar, meaning it will automatically update in Gmail.com when changes are made to the original ICS feed.

Here’s how to add that specific ICS link to your Google Calendar (which is what you use with Gmail). This method will “subscribe” to the calendar, meaning it will automatically update in your Google Calendar when changes are made to the original Essendon Camera Club calendar in Outlook 365.

  1. Open Google Calendar:
     • Go to calendar.google.com in your web browser.
     • Make sure you are logged into the Google account where you want to see this calendar.
  2. Find the “+” to add a calendar:
     • On the left-hand side of the Google Calendar screen, scroll down until you see the “Other calendars” section.
     • Next to “Other calendars,” click on the “+” (Add other calendars) icon.
  3. Choose “From URL”:
     • From the small menu that appears, select “From URL”.
  4. Paste the ICS link:
     • In the “URL of calendar” field, paste the full link you provided: https://outlook.office365.com/owa/calendar/1ff726659b64474e876e758772319868@essendoncameraclub.org.au/d30a23f38eac45698ad99996908de2c37997506261311288133/calendar.ics

  1. • (Optional but recommended): You can also check the box next to “Make the calendar publicly accessible” if you want to allow others to see it when they view your Google Calendar’s public URL. For most personal use, you can leave this unchecked.
  2. Add calendar:
     • Click the “Add calendar” button.

That’s it! The Essendon Camera Club events should now appear in your Google Calendar under the “Other calendars” section. Google Calendar will periodically check the provided URL for updates, so any changes made to the source calendar will eventually reflect in your Google Calendar.
