Introduction to Photography Course
The Essendon Camera Club is proud to present :
INTRODUCTION TO PHOTOGRAPGHY ~ 5 Week Course
This course covers the fundamentals of using a digital camera, moving beyond the ‘Auto’ mode and into more creative areas. Ideally suited to new photographers, or those wishing to gain further control over their photography, this course lays some important foundational principles within which to build your skills.
Your course fee covers:
- 5 weeknights of focused classes
- One outing (Sunday) to bring everything together
- All resources and course materials
- One full year of club membership*.
Our club hosts inspiring presentations, conducts outings and learning activities which form part of our syllabus, creating opportunities for the continued development of your photography.

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS
There are total of 20 places on our course. During the course however, participants will be assigned to smaller groups of 5 each with it’s own mentor.

NECESSARY EQUIPMENT:
- A Digital Camera capable of being used in Manual Mode. Digital SLR or Mirrorless with changeable lenses preferred.
- Your camera manual. If you don’t have a physical copy, please download one and have it available during the course on your mobile phone or tablet or in a way that it will be easily accessible.
* Club membership covers the calendar year in which you participate in the Introduction to Photography Course
Course Dates for 2006
The course runs over 5 week nights and commences April 30th 2026
Start time is 7:30pm and finishes at 9:30pm
Week 1: Thursday 30th April
Week 2: Thursday 7th May
Week 3: Thursday 14th May
Week 4: Thursday 21st May
Week 5: Thursday 28th May
Outing: Sunday 31st May (Morning – between 9am-11am)
The course is held at our club rooms (with the exception of our outing) which is at:
Abers Community Hub (formly Aberfeldie Baptist Church),
3-5 Price Street, Essendon 3040
