Essendon Camera Club is thrilled to welcome acclaimed portrait photographer Lisa Saddington for a special live demonstration evening dedicated to the delicate art of newborn portraiture.

Photographing newborns requires a unique blend of technical mastery, patience, and safety. In this practical, hands-on session, Lisa will pull back the curtain on how to create timeless, emotive infant portraits while keeping comfort and safety front and centre.

• Baby Safety & Handling: Essential posing techniques, safe setups, and soothing workflows.

• Lighting & Modifiers: Using soft, directional light to flatter delicate features without overwhelming the subject.

• Styling & Composition: Working with wraps, neutral tones, and simple props to keep the focus purely on the baby.

• Camera Settings & Angles: Lens selection, depth of field management, and finding the most flattering perspectives.
