VAPS Convention 2020 – Cancelled COVID 19

Wangaratta will be the venue for the 2020 Victorian Association of Photographic Societies (VAPS) annual convention.

It is to be held at the Wangaratta Performing Arts and Convention Centre over 3 days from Friday June 26th to Sunday June 28th 

Upwards of 250 delegates coming from the 75 Victorian Photographic clubs and societies will be present. Delegates will listen to professional experts in the fields of Landscape, Portraiture, Travel and Printing.

Workshops are offered for those interested in honing their skills in Photo software, composition, lighting and portrait. The Victorian 3D photo is also making a special contribution to this year’s convention.

Keynote speakers will include Mark Raynor from Queensland who is  well-known travel and wildlife photographer. Local professional Richard White, Tasmanian professional Landscape photographers Luke Tscharke and Paul Hoelen, a highly skilled photo print expert Silvi Glattauer and the Australian Professional Olympus representative Karl Ludik, with his team.

Upwards of 1500, Prints and Digital Images, from the best of all the Victorian clubs will be on display during the convention. This is one exhibition that no one should miss.

Registration to attend the weekend of learning and presentations are open on the Friday of the convention and free entry is open to all for the highly regarded print exhibition.

Throughout the weekend there will also be showings of the audio visual work done by various club members and in addition the finest digital images will be screened, again representing the top work from all Victorian clubs.

Delegates will be welcomed on the Friday night and a cocktail social night is planned, Saturday night is the formal dinner and awards night at the Wangaratta Turf club.

Much planning goes into an event like this and the VAPS committee are grateful for the wonderful work and effort put forward by the local Wangaratta Photographic club.
