For more than 50 years the Essendon Camera Club has been acknowledged as one of Melbourne's foremost photographic clubs.

ECC members are represented in competitions at state, national and international level. A sample of their work is displayed here (click on any image). However less inexperienced photographers and newcomers are always made welcome and given the opportunity to grow their photographic skills.

Photography Techniques - 10-week course begins 8 April
The Esssendon Camera Club's 2010 photography course is filling up fast! Every year the club conducts a comprehensive 10-week course (plus three field trips) on photographic techniques that will take you beyond point-and-shoot.

The course commences 8 April (the Thursday after Easter) and includes tuition by experienced photographers, practical sessions and comprehensive course notes. Click here to download a course brochure and application form. Places are limited so be sure to get in early.

Second Monday each month — Monthly competitions
The second Monday of each month is competition night for prints and digitally projected images (DPI), allowing members to submit their work for review by an external judge. Everyone benefits from the judge's analysis and helpful comments. Click here to download the ECC competition rules and a guide for preparing images for the DPI category.

Fourth Monday — Activities & guest speakers
The fourth Monday of each month is an activity night such as a guest speaker, demonstration, or visit to a photography-related facility. Weekend outings are also conducted to allow members to combine a day out with practical photography.

Monthly newsletter & library
The club publishes a monthly newsletter, "In Focus" available to all club members. We also have an excellent library that is open to all members.

• Where do we meet? Aberfeldie Baptist Church, 3-5 Price Street, Essendon

• When? Second and fourth Monday of every month, commencing at 8pm and concluding about 10pm. Visitors are welcome and there is no cover charge.
